Do T2's *** :-) *** grit into the gears?? (like TA05)

Hi there.
Do T2's have any issues with sucking grit into the gears??

Ive a Tamiya TA05 & am starting go go through lots of pinions/spurs
as the TA05 seems to like sucking grit/small stones into the gears
& ruining them. (only got a 2 minutes run today before gears got grit in them)
Seriously considering a used T2 to replace it.

My T1 drifter doesnt have this problem, but a T2 motor/spur sits lower(??)

The outdoor RC track I practice at may not being 100% clean, buts its only 5minutes from home, so I can go there after work.

I've never had a problem with dirt in the gears of my T2 (original before the 00 stuff). I'm using 48 pitch gears which may help as well.
