hI RetilesnR/C,
You have a couple of good tracks in the Parkersburg area, Mountwood being the outside track and the New Carpet track. I used to race at Mountwood and is a excellent road course facility. The new Carpet track I hear has a great racing program and has several classes, that would interest you.. The T2R would make a excellent car if $200 is what you are wanting to spend to start out with. But keep in mind you don't have to start with latest chassis design to be competitive, some of the older model Xrays are good starters as well, T1R, EVO II, FKO4, and with the new chassis design there's the FKO5, allot times you can find these kits on other RC swap and sell forums or Ebay or at your local RC shop saving you tons of money.. I agree with Zapp442 that the Duratrax Ice Charger is an excellent charger, but if you budgeting your money I suggest to go with the Futabu PL AM radio. This radio has a 10 programmable programs meaning you can put in 10 different cars if you have the extra recievers.. and it's well under $100 . As far as battery packs you can budget your money by picking up sports packs, until your ready to start with Matched or Team packs.. As far as tires, you can run Foams both Summer and Winter at both tracks, I believe Mountwood has a foam tire class and you can run foams on the carpet track as well..
I would like to add that there is another Carpet track with a great racing program down in Huntington at TCRC so if you ever get down their way stop by on a Saturday an give them a look.. Hope this all helps, Take care and most important of all..........Have Fun!!
