I wrote an article about waterproofing your electronics:

Ok...all very good with trying to put a baloon around speedo and receiver but I can't imagine that it'll be very good for your motor since it won't disperse heat and you'll probably damage the whole thing.

I was told to only put a baloon around the endbell, but then again water could get in via the cooling slots so I can't see a winning situation.

Also, the article on waterproofing by Hagberg.....man that box is really big....you'll obviously need to compensate for the extra weight. The high roll center will probably be advantageous due to the wet conditions.

MY LRP ESC says it's waterproof, so I won't bother trying to waterproof that, if it breaks I'll use the guarantee on it. The servo I taped up and put blu tack on the screws and for the receiver I cut a hole on the other side so there's holes on opposite ends, fit it snugly over the receiver, plug in wires and seal with vaseline. Dunno what to do about the motor, is it really necessary to waterproof it...??

I don't think it is, 540 motors are broken in in water any way. Plus you might not even get it wet. Drew.
