Nice one on the win.

Was wondering if i could ask a few questions regarding the setup sheet as it close to the same track conditions that i race at

Mixed
Low

On the roll center bushings FF and FR they are at 0.5 outwards facing in the down position, what effect does this have on the car.

And there are shims under the top deck is this to give more flex.

And for low grip conditions is best to use a harder diff oil.

Hi Andrew,

I find that running the 0.5mm, lower & wider, insert in the FF and FR blocks generally gives more overall front end grip. It seems to increase the amount of steering you have in the car, without making it too twitchy and hard to drive.

As you say, by shimming the top deck, you are introducing more flex to the car. This too helps improve the car on low grip tracks.

As far as diff oil is concerned, I don't particularly think that thicker oil is better on low grip tracks. In this instance I used 4k oil to give more on power steering, which was needed for the longer corners on the CWIC track layout.
I tend to start around 3k for most tracks, and then adjust from there dependant on feel and grip levels.

Thanks for the reply.

I ran the same setup at my local track today which had its first meeting after starting back up after a bit of time out. Over the day the car just got better and better with the only changes being the punch on esc being turned down.

The track was low in grip to start and then came up with the only issue i tendered to have was the rear stepping out a little if i put the power on coming out of the corner.

Hi Andrew,

Good to hear that your car went well on the setup.

If you are struggling with the rear end of the car stepping out during corner exit, try going slightly thinner on the rear diff, and see how that goes.

I'm glad I just read that comment above Zak. I was just about to go up in my diff for bedworth this weekend because my rear was stepping out some. I'll leave it as it is as my diff already is 1k with two drips of 2K in it. Going thicker would make me loose some of my mid corner off power steering...well, that's what it feels like. thx
