I have looked at Alex's setup for the ETS in Gran Canaria.

As it was low traction, why add shims to the outside of the upper links instead of lowering the inside, what would the difference be?

As traction get's lower I usually lower the inner links, when should I consider raising the outside instead.

i have a similar query reagrding high/medium tractions set ups of alexs and others, in some cases why are the inner links shimmed up? my understanding was to have this lower with more grip available.

I guess adding a 1mm shim at the top of the hub has a smaller effect in lowering the roll-center, than removing a 1mm shim from the bulkhead. Just because the bulkheads are closer to the Instant Center of the car.

Links lower on the inside makes for more camber gain which equals more overall traction. This was needed in Gran Canaria and actually works well for most asphalt tracks. It was the way to go also last year at that track.

For some carpet tracks and control tires, the opposite works good. Such as at the recent Snowbird Nationals, I ran my links quite high on the inside since the smaller camber gain helped the car have better forward bite as well as being smoother to drive.

Normally I would not go lower than 1mm on the inside. If you need more camber gain and already have 1mm there, then consider to raise the outside. The opposite goes for if you want less camber gain and already use 1mm on the outside front or 3.5mm on the outside rear, then consider to raise the inside instead of lowering the outside.
