Guys this is going to be my first time running a Electric car , im coming from off road so i dont know nothing about TC cars , i want to know if someone can help me with a good setup or initial setup , the rules here in my country are a little different , because we are going to run With Nitro Foams Tires , 26mm Front , 30mm Rear , with 13.5 Tekin Motor and Maxium 5000 MaH 2s Lipo Battery , we need to run qualifiers of 10 minutes each and final 10 minutes too , so can you help me with a Spur Pinion Number so i can reach the 10 minutes run ? and some setup to start ? We run in Asphalt with medium Traction and smooth track ! i have only 3.0 and 2.6 springs !

Ouch, 13.5 for 10 mins. I think my first feeling is that you cannot run a 13.5 flat out for 10 mins with a 5000mah lipo. I think it is more of a driving style change, ie you cannot point and squirt, it needs to be smooth without harsh acceleration and breaking. So…


1. Probably run with a lower turn angle on the front axle – say 18 degrees max to avoid going in too fast and scrubbing speed with the tyres
2. If you are looking for a starting setup, well on medium grip and smooth I am sure you will find the kit settings a good place to start.
3. No idea really what to suggest on FDR without knowing your track but I guess 7.0 give or take a pinion tooth is where to start.
4. It might be an idea to set your ESC turbo to zero; possibly be a bit conservative on boost too - I am guessing this might save you battery
5. Depending on conditions maybe a bit of negative curve on throttle on your transmitter – you do not want to waste any battery by spinning your wheels.
6. Maybe turning your throttle down on the transmitter, say 20-30% if you cannot make the10 mins.
7. Do not use the brakes
All the above assumes you are not driving on an oval circuit
Please note that I (and I assume many others) do not have experience of 10min laps, so a lot of the above is guess work

Yellowsahrk , thank you men , well , here the guys that run TC , have this rules for 2012 Season , i ask some friend of mine what he is running for 2012 season so i can give somo more points to start with my help guess hehehehe , they run with a HOBBYWING 13T Brushless Combo for 2012 they dont have problems to finish 10 minutes with a FDR of 4.5 , this motor they run are sensorless , the tires he is using are 35 NITRO FOAMS with 62MM Height for both front and rear , rear tires are 30mm wide and front 26mm , and for 2013 they are going to change for the Tekin RS 13.5 and he says this motor its better with the battery , well i hope this can serve for you to know some more things so i can get started in the best way possible , here are some pics of my Local Track !

The Hobbywing 13T is a very good motor, I have plenty of experience with it since I run our Hobbywing 13T class for 2 years with very good results, using a Xray T1. The first season we ran 3x6 minutes mains with a 4500 mAh batery with no recharging between, and it was acheiveable but some drivers didn't make it and those who did ended up with the battery at almost 6.0V, which is something I really dont like. ESC timing had to be on default settings and drive ratio couldn't be lower than 6.60. Tires were also foams, but special electric ones (GRP) if you wanted to be competitive, 26mm all around. Nitro are good for training since they last much longer. For next year we allowed recharging and allowed all bateries. So I don't think you have to conserve any power or hold back in any way, it should achieve 10 minutes without any problems (talking of course about HW 13T motor, I have no experience with your Tekin or any 13.5T stock racing). Make sure you have very good connectors (I reccomend 4mm bullets) since bad ones tend to cut off the battery earlier than it really is. For this low speeds kit setup will be more than good to start with. Enjoy electric on road racing ;)
