XRAY - Model racing cars

Hi. I was wondering if any of you have successfully fixed the same issue I'm having. My lovely girl had to sit and I was unable to drive her at all for about a year. I had become seriously ill. Now I'm fixing her up. The issue is, even after replacing the battery, replacing plugs, wires, coil pack, air filter (because it gets moist here in Maryland) and doing the de-flooding procedures, she just whines when I try to start her up. Not cranking, no clicking as if I put a playing card in my bicycle spokes, nothing. Just whining. I read so many forms. Issues go from battery ground cleaning to replacing the starter or even the entire ignition. I, however, am eyeballing the sledgehammer WAY to much this past week. Can anyone tell me if they have had this issue and actually successfully fixed the problem? Or does anyone have any advice? Perhaps I have not thought of something. I shall have the sledgehammer at the ready, in case it needs a love tap in the right spot (sigh). Thank you in advance
