The new Picco Torque EM-X seems to be a very good engine. The new Sonic, REDS and Xceed DS6 is the same engine. A good allrounder is the Novarossi 35-plus-21, do not get fooled with the more expensive versions with ceramic bearings, lightened heads etc. In the hands of a normal driver these options are not noticeable. If you want to start cheap te Novarossi N21-5T or the Sonic stock 5P are very affordable and have a good performance. |

+1 ... except for the big 'R'. Keep your hands away from them. The O.S. Speed XZ-R is around for 290 Euro, as well as some Sirio CL7R or the Sirio Seven On. And for a comparison: My 40L old 2009 Sirio CL7B was faster than a freshly ran-in Nova 7-port onroad engine (both ran in 1/8th onroad). To me for starting racing the absolute best thing would be one of the 'Shepherd Hobby Cup' engines under differend names by Picco incl. pipe set for less than 220 Euro. |
