Post subject: | How to calculate gear ratio? |
Hi Racers, as stated in the Basic Set-up Sheet for the Xray RX8 the gear ratio for example the 1st gear is 6.92, with 17T pinion and 49T spur gear. According to my understanding the gear ratio (GR) for a simple 2 gear train is calculated via the following equation: GR= Number of teeth spur gear : number of teeth pinion gear Using this equation the gear ratio above should be 2.88 instead of 6.92. Is anyone around to explain the difference to me or in other words how does Xray calculate the gear ratio? Thx to the wise men! Regards DriveIt |

There is also a so called "internal gear" which is on the rear belt. Use the 2 pulleys on the rear belt with it. |
