XRAY - Model racing cars

It seems to be related to the brands of engines. A friend recently did make new enginemounts for some Shepherd drivers using XRD engines. The mounting holes are on a different distance from the front bearing compared with Picco/Novarossi.

Brands related to XRD are TeamOrion, Sirio and some othe local Italian brands.

I guess Xray will be doing something to fix this out, hope for their name.

I want to race with my new rx8 2014, I keep this car for all next year and probably the next one. Be sure I will be there and judge only at the end and decide what's the
next steps.

I had a test day yesterday with my rx8. The clutch and speed gears are now well placed and no had any problems. I milled a bit the four chassis holes and even the engine is slightly angled all works so well.

I would like to say the rx8 its a high quality product, a well engineered car and nice to see compared to all other cars. Its a robust car, fast and solid.

I know that you weren't sarcastic. For club racers it's a fine car as those don't give a lot on extensive play (i.e. in the axles' bearing seats and bearings). Compared to cars with tiny alu-bulkheads it's very solid and unbreakable, indeed. Since I'm running the 2012 car, I remember of three very bad crashes which for sure would had been extremely expensive repairs on a Velox and co. but I never ever broke a part on my RX8 so far. So it may sound as if I would be some kind of hater or fanboy but I'm just calling things by their name. What engine are you running?

Great. Do you think you should had have to mill the chassis when using a Nova-based engine? The difference between the two main measures of engines is just as low as .5 to .6mm in width of the mounting holes. It seems that you have had to mill out the chassis more than this, right?

Ok first I want to say have only been into rc for about 10 years not long. And i just like many other people search for info on issues like this. This is what I found on this problem.fact#1 its not the chassis its the engine, the chassis are cut the same probably but the same cnc machine not sure but all cut the same. I put a reds m7 in my rx8 and had the same thing happend gear mesh not right. I was told never mill the chassis cost to much to replace. So I had to figure out what to do a buddy of mine told me to mill the crankcase holes so I can oush the engine over and guess what? Easy as bakeing a cake. Now my rx8 has a gear mesh to die for and I didnt have to compromise the chassis. Just so you know
