XRAY - Model racing cars

Hey everyone!

I'm trying to squeeze every ounce of corner speed out of my x12 '15 and I feel as though I've hit a limit.

I've been trying all kinds of changes and the fastest combination is outlined in this setup sheet:

For those that haven't run on the CRC Spec tires it may seem odd.

Looking for suggestions on how to maintain corner speed. What are your theories for corner speed?

Your set up looks pretty similar to what we use. You can try shorter center shock, this might help car react a bit quicker but wont be so good over bumps. Mine or Alex's set up from the euros are available online if you wanted to try these.

Also the strakka body I think turns less compared the AMR so this could be another option to try.

Generally when your car feels good and is difficult to see where it needs to be improved you need to add more steering. You don't want car to feel too perfect, needs to have a bit of an 'edge' if this makes sense.

Try adjusting spur and pinion combination to move the motor closer to the axle but keeping same ratio, but more weight around the rear might help rotation/steering.

I'll throw an AMR on today and try it. I have to remount my electronics to run the shorter shock so that's a bit more of an undertaking but I'll do that sometime as well.

Already running 78 spur and 51 pinion and feel like that's too much rotating mass - is the benefit of moving the motor closer to the axle greater than the performance hit from a larger spur/pinion?

I really don't know how much effect the rotating mass will have, usually I run modified so we don't worry too much about this. Try it and see how it runs. Moving the motor should have a big effect as its a big part of the weight of the car.
