X12 '15 and Savöx Servo

Hi ...

i have build the x12 and want to use a savöx 1257MG servo.
The two steering
rods have the same lenght with 27,2 mm. servo is on left side.
if i bring the servo saver in neutral position with 90° my car didnt drive straight.
the servo exit is out of the middle. 2 mm to far on right side.
if i bring the saver in neutral the 2 steering rods didnt have the same lenght.
whats wrong?

I had the same problem. You have to drill the hole long so you Can move the servo the 2 mm so the out pin from the servo is straight Down the middle. Then everything is okey. Reason i Think is because the out pin from the savox is a little offset compaired to sanwa and other brands

I have the same problem with a the Savox servo, the output shaft of the servo doesnt quite line up with the centerline of the car creating an uneven left and right steering radius. I had to adjust the sub-trim on the transmitter to limit the servo's travel so both left and right turns are about the same.

This ultimately will makes the steering linkage arms uneven. Depending on which side you mount the servo, the left or right linkage will be longer than the other. Im not sure how that will affect steering geometry.

I havent tried elongating the servo horns so that the shaft will be on the centerline. I might try that if I do notice uneven steering characteristics.

Im sure that DIY servo mount would work. Just relocate the 2 holes that secures the mount to the chassis over a bit and should center up the servo no problem.

Also, they sell a servo case core that allows the whole servo to be shifted 2mm

But sadly they dont ship to my location, also, its $25 bucks + shipping. I opted to widen the servo holes on the chassis. Its the fastest and cheapest way in centering the savox servo shaft.

sure ... it is for everyone, the drawing can be used! otherwise I would not have published it in rctech. have also cad / cam file. consists interest then write pm. but the drawing is intended for sanwa srg-hr and hs ... savoxe is not the same size!
