On X12 2014 winning setup sheet, there is mentioned "Extra long shock modification"

What is this exactly?

As seen in this pic. The shock is made longer, which is possible by reversing the top shock mount as well. It made the car easier to drive, and it drives better over bumps this way. Invented by the great Paul Lemieux!

Funny - I was considering doing that when I built mine ... definitely going to try it now.

So none of you fast cats run the anti-rollover post?

Also - in that pic the 4 capacitors - I assume that is a booster? Which is it? I've been looking to find a long one like that, have been considering just making one actually.

Oh - also - I just realized that this car is running the battery sideways versus lengthwise. What is the reason? I was under the impression that almost everyone was running lengthwise now?

To Alexander or Paul, regarding the long shock modification instead of flipping the front mount/mast holder could u use the older part 373542 instead of the current part 373543?

Would the shock length still be the same in comparison? Handling characteristics the same?

This way u could keep the mast for the unexpected track moving in ur path and the car toppling over !!

I can't remember the measurements of that part but most probably won't be the same as you change the geometry completely by moving the shock more towards the rear of the car.
