The "O" ring seal should not be too large but it is very easy to stretch them. I suggest you apply some diff oil to the seal and fit it inside the diff cover, not on the diff itself. If it fits inside the cover you will be fine. The cover screws need to be tightened firmly, otherwise the diff will leak. You will feel some resistance when you rotate the diff output shafts. It will be more on the front diff because of the heavier oil. The 80K oil is for the front diff and the 60K oil for the rear diff. The 600 cst is for the shocks. |

If your diffs are leaking you are doing something wrong, especially as you haven't run the car yet. If you assemble the diffs as per the Instructions Manual you shouldn't have a problem. I can't see why you need to use a sealant in place of the 'O' ring seals. We have been running our NT1 for over 2 years and have dismantled and rebuilt the diffs many times without any problems with leaking. You need to take extra care with the rubber 'O' ring seal and tighten the screws firmly (very tight but without stripping the threads). Put some diff grease on the 'O' ring seal and place it inside the diff cover, not on the body of the diff itself. When you have tightened the screws (evenly), check that the 'O' ring seal is not protruding from the joint. If it is, replace it with a new seal. |
