It sounds like the flywheel/clutch don't have enough play from the shimming. I would recommend re-checking and setting all of the gaps shown on page 28 of the .

Camacho, your clutch is definitely engaging too early, tighten the spring nut some more, check your gap.

btw, what part of NY are you from?

My car's clutch feels like it's bogging off the line, but when it gets up to speed it's fine. I need to jam the throttle quickly to 1/4 in order to see a quick start. I went back and re-adjusted all the spacing, which is now correct. I needed to extend the Novarossi shaft as it's a MM too short to work w/ the set up instructions in the book. It's difficult to measue exactly .3 mm end play with a metric tape measure, but I'm prety sure it's just there. It's very small, but just enough to let the clutchbell rotate freely.

I'd like the clutch to engage sooner so that the car is responsive at even the low RPM's like I'm used to with my other nitro cars. Should I keep ticking back (counterclockwise) the clutch adjustment (loosening it) until it engages they way I want? It says there is only a MM sweet spot back in forth so I want to be careful not to keep loosening it too much.

As a general guide, how many revolution(s) can you get out of 1MM when adjusting the clutch?
