Gearing also depends on tire diameter. On a large 8th scale track I ran 2 teeth higher than the kit pinions. I also ran the tire diameter at 63 rear and 61 front, to start. |

Hi Ron, When your driving at the track in Heemstede you realy need to change the gearing. With the standaard pinions and spurs in won't work because its way to smal. I drive a Mega MF engine and i use 18/59 and 23/54. 17/59 will also work at heemstede. so you only need to change the pinions and you can use the standaard 59 and 54 spurs. Greetz, Maarten |

Is the choice of the pinions in the kit wrong chosen ? I think a tracksize like Heemstede is common in most parts of the world. |

Hi roelof, I agree when your saying that heemstede is a common track size for tracks all over the world, but it depants on what engine you drive. I thought that if you drive a CRf engine that you need a smaller gearing then the MF. and then the gearing in the kit is maybe alright. Greetz, Maarten |

Yes, CRF needs a light gearing but is that the reason to choose the current pinions ? I can not imagine that because the CRF is at this moment not a well used motor. Most 8th scale cars come with a gearing usefull for Novarossi (based), Picco (based) and Sirio (based) engines which take for 90% of the market of the racing scene. Or is it better to include the 2 types of gearing ? |
