The suspension stems from an alleged assaulting of a woman that occurred back in April 2017. When the initial incident was reported by KING 5 television, the Seahawks did not respond to requests for comment on the story. Now that Reed has been suspended, the team released this brief statement.“We are aware of the situation involving Jarran Reed and have followed league and law enforcement protocol since the alleged incident in April of 2017.”Bellevue Police Department spokesperson Meeghan Black told the Seattle Times on Monday “that Reed was investigated in connection with the incident and that the case was referred to prosecutors for potential charges. Black said prosecutors then declined to pursue the case further.”Reed can participate in training camp and play in the Seahawks’ preseason games, but he won’t be eligible to return to the 53-man active roster until October 14th, one day after the Seahawks’ Week 6 matchup at the Cleveland Browns.
