Alex's car had a turn buckle link across the new flex radio plate on his NT1. Is this tightend up to reduce flex on the new plate? or is it left relatively loose just to add some subtle flex reduction? What is the benefit of doing this to the NT1? |

The team has improvised a lot at the Worlds while working on the set-up. As far I heard the tire treatment created a lot of problems, without the tire treatment the cars were slow, with the treatment the cars tractionrolled. So I expect that modification was to try to find a solution to the particular track condition as well to try to fight some other competitors who used some very special tires. |

I also noticed some screws were removed from the chassis plate... instead of 3 screws holding the front bottom bumper there was 2 and the 2 in the middle of the rear bulkhead that attach to the chassis. this flex thing has me buggered hehe |

If you are referring to the front link which I mounted across the radio plate, it has no tension on it. It simply sits there to reduce flex ever so slightly. Seems to make the car more reactive and give more turn-in. It was an idea which came from some Italian team drivers previously in this year. It has been widely used after the introduction of tire traction compounds. |

I would still say its a little different since the top plate is mounted with 4 screws and the stiffener I use is only mounted on two points. |

Tried this at the last two club meets and did notice it makes the car feel more like the uncut top deck but it's not quite as stiff. It's a nice compromise, I like it. |
