I really like the plastic shocks over the aluminum ones for the very reason you just described. Its just easier to bleed them and get the rebound just right.
Also, I really like the action between the body and the piston, its much smoother than with the aluminum body or at least in my experience.
Some people claim that the plastic bodies help keep the oil cooler since the heat transfer is less and therefore the change in viscosity is lower.
