Can anyone explain the differences between the two? Pros and cons for each and what parts are inter-changeble?

Hi Aaron,

The HD clutch is definately better than the standard unit.
Its lighter and smaller which helps with acceleration.
Not a lot of the parts are interchangable, not the parts that wear out anyway.
The new red shoe is also very good but is only available with the HD clutch.

Cheers
Andrew

Hello
Are the pinions gear the same between High-dynamic Centrifugal-Axial (XCA) clutch and standart clutch ?

Yes, the pinion gears are same.

I have heard some of the US drivers say that the standard clutch has a higher punch compared to the High dynamic one. They say that the standard clutch has a bigger contact area so the take-off of the car is greater.

This of course was before the red shoe was introduced. So my question is, is this true? Is the standard clutch better on high traction tracks? Is the HD clutch better on low traction tracks? Or is this just plain myth???

Thanks guys.

The HD clutch has more acceleration and bottom power under all conditions at least from my testing. The performance is increased further with the red clutch shoe, however, it will have less "feel" than with the normal yellow shoe.

Hello
On the NT1 WE with hight dynamic , are the flywheel distance (9.2 +-0.1), clutch spring preload (10/11 mm) or cluth gap (0.6/0.7 mm) the same as standard. There is nothing on the instruction manual supplementary sheet
Thank you for answering
Jacky

Hi Jacky,

Yes, same settings as original clutch.

Hi, from what I have read so far is that the correct way to build the HD centax is the same as the standard (0.6-0.7mm gap and 1.0-1.1mm preload).
When I try to build it that way the clutch slips and the car does not start.
After experimenting I have found that the only way that the HD centax operates properly is when I build it with 0.6-0.7mm gap and 0.0-0.3mm preload.
This way is operates properly. My problem is that the clutch works properly for the first 5-10min of a race and then the preformance starts to degrade.
Could you enlighten me on this?

I am curious what people think the best high dynamic (HD) clutch setup is for a medium grip track?

What shoe, spring, gap, adjs nut tightness, end play, weight in clutch inserts, etc.

I am running red, hard, 0.4, 0.5, 0.01 with 3mm grub screws as weight. Seem to get too much wheel spin.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Sam

My impression is that HD clutch is better everywere. It gives more bottom power, it's more reliable and it's performance is the same from minute 1 to minute 30 in the main finals.

As for the ideal set-up...I would say that for mid traction tracks the yellow shoe will work better and maybe work with 0.4 or 0.5 gap. In mid or low traction conditions you don't want to have a clutch which is too aggresive or the car will be very difficult to drive. For what you describe your clutch settings look to suit better a high grip track. Nevertheless if you feel comfortable with the clutch and the car is not to hard to drive under acceleration then you shouldn't change.
