HEY GUYS, Here a proud new owner of an nt1r. I just finish assembling the car and when I add the engine (Novarossi ns12ts1) the gear on the engine does not flush with the one on transmission, is about 1.5 to 2mm in-boards, but as far as gear meshing I think is pretty good…… could this be an issue or is ok????…..if it is how do I fix it???? Thanks to all!!!! Andy.

Andy, any chance you can give us a view from "overhead" so we can see both ends of the layshaft. Have a "theory" what might be wrong but need to see both ends of layshaft. |

Maybe you need to add some shims to the back of the collet |

Could the motor mounts somehow be around the wrong way? Very strange. ![]() |

Hey guys I checked everything again and all looks good…….the only think that I can think of is to purchase an adjustable engine mount, any suggestion on one that will allowed me to move the engine out-bore about 2mm? Thank you!! |

Hi Andy, AFAIK, there isnt an engine mount that gives you that much movement. Can you take a photo of engine mount area of the car? I've never seen this, its almost like the crank is too short. Cheers Andrew |

Add a couple of 7mm shims behind the fly wheel collet. And also which collet are you using, the one that came with the motor, or the Xray novarossi one? |

I would say some holes in the engine or motormount are not on their place. How is it with another motor or mount? (If you have not go tot the shop or a club to try others) |

Using collet from Novarossi, I tried adding shims and a bigger collet, after that the position is good but the flywheel seams not rotating freely. |

You probably pushed up the clutch assembly so much that now you have to either use a longer endbell bushing or add a couple of 3x5 to extend the one your using. From what your saying, when you tighten down the screw the clutch is all binded up, correct? |

Clutch assemblies follow exactly the user manual. What I tried to do (today) was using a bigger collet whit all the shims available, after that is better not perfect, clutch bell will not rotate freely. Could it be the crankshaft too short on the nova ns12ts1 tech spec said 11.5mm…….what size you guys are using? is anybody using this engine?....or better there is any adjustable motor mount that will allow me to shift the engine 2mm?? thanks to all!!! |

The 11.5mm is the internal diameter of the crankshaft. You can lengthen the crankshaft by placing 3x5mm spacers on top of the crankshaft. |

The only thing you have wrong are the spur gears. You have mounted both spur gears in a reverse mode. Screw them on the other side. ![]() That's all |

Tonete, Do you mean the pinion gears?? Please confirm Thank you, |

Post subject: | Re: NT1 GEAR MESH. |
No, no the pinion. The plastic parts = spur gears (54T and 59T) When you mount the spur gear, the teeth number (53 in the image) has to face out of the car so you can read it. ![]() |

Tonete, So looking at the car from the rear to the front the gear 59 (engrave) will be facing the right side of the car and the gear 54 (engrave) the left side. Is that correct? Thanks for the help, Andy. |
