XRAY - Model racing cars

Hi,

I am almost done assembling an NT1 which is my first on road car. Now I need to find an engine, and I don't know which one would suit my need.

I have experience with nitro engines for truggies (.21 and .28 ) but I don't feel completely comfortable with the running in procedures and engine maintenance. Therefore I would like an engine that is easy and safe to run in and keep.

Since this is my first on road car, I obviously do not want a competitive level engine. The engine should be affordable, easy to start, calibrate and drive and with enough power to have a lot of fun on the parking lots.

I already have a starterbox, so I would probably go for an engine without pull-starter. But that is not essential.

Do you have any suggestions?

Novarossi as one of the best engine producer has some "Basic" models listed for a very good price, 144 euro I believe.

If you want to have something better then the JP P3L is a better performing engine based on the Novarossi Basic. The Black edition of this P3L has some coatings which will give a longer life to the crankshaft, 199 euro for the Black edition.

In the same pricerange you can find the JL Picco Evo-3 which is a very fast engine.

Running in is always needed and if you take the time and do it with care the engine will have a longer life at maximum performance.

Does anybody know this engine and exhaust, and do you think it will be a good choice for an on road beginner?
