Here are my impressions:
If you're an experienced racer, then the NT1 will be fine "as is" out of the box.
If you're new to nitro racing, then you may need a few upgrades if you lose dog bones or experience front end damage due to collisions. Front CVDs and the harder bumper would certainly help.
A lot of guys are upgrading to front CVDs for peace of mind or because they experienced a problem. No matter how good someone is, anything can happen out on the track and the thought of losing a front dog bone is somewhat unsettling. The other top 3 cars offer front CVDs as standard, but those are all "upgraded" models. To me, it would make sense to include at least the front CVDs, even if it increased the price a bit.
The yellow clutch shoe (which quite a number of people have mentioned in the past) and springs are tuning options and it's really up to the individual to decide what works best for them. I don't think those should be included in the kit. All the other option parts are really just that.
