Post subject: | Melted differentials and broken drive shafts |
I melted my composite ball diff XR385002. The steel balls had got so hot that they melted the holes in the bevel gear. The melted plastic was fused onto the ball diff washers, which basically turn the diff into a solid axle once I slowed the truck into a turn. The solid diff then snapped both my both my driveshafts XR385300 when I tried to accelerate out of the turn. I was thinking of getting alum diffs XR385001, but noticed that the bevel gear is still plastic XR385035, which would melt again and cause the same problem. Any suggestions? |

I think you have driven the diff to loose, if the diff spins it create heat frome the friktion. |

At one point during the race, the drive shaft between front and rear diffs fell out because of a crash, and I had to drive on just the rear wheels. Could this also been part of the problem? |
