hi all what are your experience with the engine temps. my normal running temp are around 82C( 176F) what are the max temp adviced from the manufactor? normaly in northern europe we say you shouldent run above 110C (230F) but thats on .12 size engines and above. my own thumb rule are place a bit of spit on the cooling head if it disappear right away with a hiss its to hot (lean) /kenn |

My experience B/n 180-190F is optimal. I've seen .21 up to 270F. That's why my break-in bench has a fan to simulate driving conditions. With airflow, i have seen it over 230! The spit test that's old school!! been doing that for 22 yrs. You dont want it to start dancin off the head, you want it to evaporate in a sec. Use your digital thermometer that's technology now!! lol! |
