bullitt, I dont mind cutting a hole in the windshield for the tank as it will also allow air to cool the head. I dont want a hole in the roof. A small hole in the rear window is fine too - to allow the air from the front to pass thru. You have to do that on all nitro cars anyway. there are 2 ways around the problem areas you brought up. Air Filter - Get the airfilter for the IRC 1/16th nitro buggy. I was lucky in that my LHS sells the IRC buggy and had air filters. There is an online shop that sells them - like $4.50. Very Nice. Very low profile. Sits lower than the head and can be turned in several directions. I have mine set up so it slopes back along the rear window line. I'll take pics tonight. Throttle arm hitting body - You can reverse the mounting of the throttle servo. This makes the throws shorter - but you dont need much for WOT and even less throw for the brakes. Even with mine reversed - I have the end point for my brake and throttle at about 50%. You will need to cut the spring and excess rod. Will take pics tonight. |

Here is link to a couple of pics of some very minor mods and I also revd my 5 cell revcr pack and took a pic from underneath the chassis to show that it does not stickout or hit the throttle linkage. The orange box is my Novak XXL recvr - mounted on end, the black box behind that is a failsafe. http://www.one18th.com/forums/showthrea ... post257118 1. Turned throttle servo around. Still need to cut the rods off. 2. Vulcan air filter 3. Underside - nothing sticking out. Other side of course the pipe sticks out. Yea we got a different pipe/mount than the pics show. bullitt, maybe you could use the HPI wing mount kit. It comes with three mounts and raises the wing up enough to fit body posts. Now putting in the clip might still be a little tricky. |
