Why is the file size limit for avatars so tiny? It's impossible to make anything that has any colour in it at all. The dimension we can work with are pretty generous, but since the file size has to be so small there can't be hardly any colour or detail put into anything. What are the chances of this changing? Most people out there have high speed internet these days and adding an extra 100kb per page load wouldn't be super hard on 56k people.
EDIT- Ok, I will now stick my foot in my mouth.
Just have to save the file as a GIF instead of a JPG. A bit less detail, but the file is about 1/10th the size. Although the 6kb still does seem low to me.
