XRAY - Model racing cars

I think it will be time that the very technical engeneers of Xray start with the development of a (CVT) for Nitro RC cars?
All mopeds/rollers have them nowadays and this kind of automatic 'gearbox' would give our Nitro RC cars more acceleration and more topspeed!

In the early '80 there were some experimental cars with CVT 'gearboxes' but the development stopped.
With modern techniques and materials a good working CVT could be designed, and who better to design and introduce it than Team XRay??

This transmission doesn't look terribly efficient. And why are there teeth on the outslde of the belt?

This was maybe the only belt he could find what fits, it seems like a belt from an old onroad car.

The CVT is nowadays very efficient and many scooters (moped/rollers) have this drive system. One of the biggest advantages is that the engine always gives it maximum torque and that gives fuel efficency advantages.

It could be a system for the future, since a CVT is highly adjustable (with 'roller' weights, spring tensions and belt grip) that this kind of transmission can be a big step forward!!
