I only buy upgrades that improve the performance, durability and reliability of the car. I don't need any fancy colors. If it comes that way fine, but it does not affect my decision to buy it. From a marketing standpoint, bling makes all the sense in the world. People are always checking out my cars to see what new stuff I'm running on it. If all the upgrades are of a certain color (good grief ![]() As Juraj pointed out, everyone enjoys this hobby/sport in different ways. Some like to bling, other's don't. I think you would have to do a production run of bling parts to find the answer you're looking for. My vote: Thanks for offering, but no thank you. I like the way things are. ![]() |

you know, commercially talking, i actually think jurai just want to know who his customers are. are they performance racers or are they the bling bling tipe street racers and especially the ratio between these two groups. i think that these bling bling tipe of guys want a car that just looks cooler than any other car and that they kind of have their own specific car using all kinds of different after market parts. pimping a HPI savage is such of these things, carbon, aluminum, you see lots of savages and None of them are the same. and thats the beauty of pimping your ride. you get your own personalized bling bling car that no one else has. therefore, if you get a T2 and pimp it up with various colours of aluminum parts you wont get far. then you get a couple of guys having all the blue parts, the other one all the red parts and now you have a blue car and an red car. i think the bling bling story cant be done by a single manufacturer. or else you would have to make a lot of different parts witch costs a fortune to design and to manufacture. maybe it is a good idea to make limited editions of some type of cars. if you look at the Microsoft Zune, it has already got numerous different designs that are sometimes very rare. like for the M18, if you could design maybe a triball looking car with flames all over the chassis you'd have a big hit as all these street drivers buy this insane looking car and dont need aftermarket cars, as they dont have triballs and ruin the overall theme of the car. getting back to the question, i think that if Xray should bring out some bling bling stuff. i think that with a well thought of strategy concerning different types of bling bling that not just look great, they also dont reduce the performance too much you'd get a much more widened spectrum of customers. from bling bling type of guy to a average club racer who just got his paycheck and want to get some cool alu on its car... oh and one final thing, why isnt there any top performance touring car that uses inboard suspension to drastically lower the CG? are the downsides in handling just to big? 2cents, Mark |
