XRAY - Model racing cars

I understand that the entire line of Xray products are usually most associated with serious RC racers and are made for a prepared racing surface. Not many casual RC users will spend for such an awesome product when much less would likely satisfy their need.
In 2009 I made a decision to invest in my XT8 - 09 Spec with intentions of racing. An economic downturn closed the track and also my ability to participate effectively and practice adequately. I still own my XT8 and just had it out bashing this past weekend. My interest is renewed to a point of wanting a parking lot basher that I can use near home on the many square miles of asphalt and concrete parking lots. My XT8 is made for the dirt that I do not have readily available and my neighbors do not appreciate the sound of a well tuned Nitro engine unfortunately.
I have been hearing about "GT" cars and wish to know more about what those are exactly. they sound close to what I am interested in. However I see that Xray does not offer a "GT" car.
I am completely sold on the idea of having only Xray products. I would appreciate some suggestions on a close match to a "GT" car. This car can be nitro or electric, 8th or 10th scale, but I think I would be better served with shaft drive 4-wheel or All-wheel drive.
Am I correct in assuming the electric versions of these touring cars are not two-speeds; that only the nitros are two speed trannys? If that be the case, then a Nitro car is what I am looking for. I LOVE the sound of the shifting....

A GT car (also known as a Rallygame car) is nothing more than an 1/8 buggy converted to onroad, the middle diff is replaced with a 2-speed gearbox. If you want to know more you can take a look to the Kyosho GT2, Serpent Cobra GT and the Ofna DM1. You can think of what is needed
- onroad tires
- stiffer dampening/springs
- (stiffer) anti roll bars
- shorter shocks with fitting shockbars
- 2-speed
- a GT body

With current electric conversions which do not need a gearbox and so much easier to convert.

Thank you for the information, sir. Do you know of an applicable 2-speed for an xray buggy? And my mind has a hard time with adapting the drive shafts to fit. (Hudy shafts are part of why I am loyal to the products.)
While Kyosho does make a commendable product, I was hoping to sort of share the same parts box with my XT8 as much as is possible.

That is a problem, there is no direct fit gearbox so you have to be creative and smart with machines to modify the car.
