XRAY - Model racing cars

Dear Team XRAY, Mr Hudy + Community,

Greetings and hello from Singapore.

About 20 years ago when I was a very young man, I entered the world of R/C when the optima was king, the hornet was a new release, the Schumacher C.A.T was world champion, Gil Losi Jr did not have white hair and the JR-X2 was the most awesome 2WD. Masami Hirosaka was also world champion and he drove a demo at the IFMAR 1/10 world champs in Singapore with his toes & reversing backward as a demo.

Somewhere along the way in the early 90s. I left R/C, took up DJing.....went to college and university. came out, got a job.....and discovered this thing called 1:1 scale cars......Audi was the choice. I manage to work my way up the ladder in terms of technnical skill and knowlege. Today I moderate the local Audi Forum Community, own my own OBD disgnostic tools and other specialized tooling for the car. We're crazy about 'hop-up' for the cars too.

Last weekend i decided to return to R/C as a hobby. walked into a Local Hobby Shop [Singapore XRAY dealer] owned by a chap i knew from 20 years back. Initially all i wanted was a simple car to bash about. had a look at the build and feel and quality of a few brands and one brand stood out.

XRAY! - the Manufacture, Quality Control and final product was water tight, the steering rack was almost void of free play. It has everything that epitomised the no holds barred approach to fine engineering.

The philosophy of the package is 1st class, the thought put into the design, material and tooling was in a league of its own.
Basically XRAY was the scale equivalent of 1:1 scale Audi when it came to precision engineering and that appealed to me a lot.

A XRAY NT1 was purchased, and the tune-up options were all included. eveything CF (carbon fiber) and all the lightweight clutches and pulley assemblies....but i had no tools, and i sure as hell couldnt use all the Snap-On tools on a R/C car.......HUDY tools to the rescue, after 3 hrs in the shop. I ended up buying practically everything to get me up and runing from scratch.

Went home and cleared a section of the house to create a dedicated work area for the return of R/C. Rang up RSComponents and ordered all the CA and Loctite adhesives, visited fluke and bought a IR Pyrometer (good fun this toy, i wonder if it will tell me which chicks are hot or not at the trackside? ha ha)...bought cutting mats et cetera.

the eagle eyes out there would spot that I have put all the tools into a an original Tamiya tool box that is nearly 20 years old. The HUDY 1/10 set up kit is out of stock so i havent been able to get one yet. [*hint hint* please send a setup kit to local dealer ASAP, i have ordered one already]

I simply cant wait to start building the NT1 this weekend.

To Mr HUDY, XRAY and the Entire R/C community here. A big thank you for all the advancements over the years. R/C has gone hi-tech with throttle curves and ABS on the scale models. BUT....Most importantly one thing has not changed - To Have Fun!
