Last Monday night , the Texans eviscerated the Titans after falling behind 10-0. Marcus Mariota was sacked six times and failed to throw the ball downfield. J.J. Watt was an enormous reason for this. Watt had 9 tackles, 6 solo, 1.5 sacks, 2.5 tackles for a loss, and 3 quarterback hits. For the season, Watt has 45 tackles (34 solo) , 11.5 sacks, and 5 forced fumbles. His performance against Tennessee was a little bit better than most of his ridiculous weeks. In this one, Watt bullrushed Jack Conklin constantly and obliterated the players selected to counteract his ability. The celebration doesn’t end the there. Watt was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for what he did against the Titans. You can see the full list of this week’s awards below. Additionally, Watt was named to this week’s Pro Football Focus team, if you’re into that sort of thing. If the season ended two weeks ago, I would have been impressed with Watt’s production. It’s still going. Watt has another five games left this year to dismantle offenses until the postseason begins.
