Post subject: | O-rings in shocks |
New to X-ray, I bought a used Xb-2 and have upgraded it to 2017/18 spec. I am familiar with other brands to replace the O-rings when they are "swollen" Going through the shocks I replaced the O-rings with the partnumber o-rings listed in the manual 972030. I imediatelly noticed that the o-rings was to big in my experience with other brands fit of O-rings in the housing. Using "force" to get the o-rings to go into the housing and putting bottom cap on. The moment of the shaft was working less good than with the old o-rings. I wounder if there is a change in O-rings done with the same partnumber or if the housing has been changed for later model´s? or what can be the root cause for the Swollen behavior at "get go". Hello They go little harder in to body but they work very good. All our team use this o-ring on last races with very successful result. |

Hi again Martin, I am not sure that I understand. Is there a modified O-ring that are put in the bags now when you buy the O-rings as a part compared to earlier? a running change? The one that I installd are not smoth in action, the old ones in the shock was not bad when I pulled them out but I expected the new ones to be smoother but I got the oposite?? Björn |

Now in all XB2, XB4 (2018 specs) kits are included new updated (little thicker) o-rings which are available under new part number (#972031). |

Hi Martin After involving the Swedish RC community and buying more o-rings... I sitting with bags with different sizes of o-rings with the same partnumber. I am very familijar with running changes in Serpent using the same partnumber. Now I know my experince and gutfeeling teeling that is was not right, also was that Xray engineers due to that there is V2 version on the same partnumber. V2 version seem to me be right size, not tested yet found out last night at the track. |

Under #972030 - V2 are packed the correct o-rings which should be used for on-road car shocks > now are marked as V2 because the previous batch was packed with little thicker o-rings which are now packed as #972031 and these o-rings should be used for off-road car shocks. |

Just built my shocks last night on the hybrid kit, O rings fit nice. Shocks are smooth/not sticky, Piston not the greatest fit. Machined pistons will be ordered soon. |
