I started putting my kit together last night, very nice kit. This is my second X-ray buggy, my first was a 808E. I have a few questions. I'm setting it up for smaller carpet track to race stock class. I'll be installing a Tekin system, RS and 17.5T. With the stock gearing, which spur gear should I start out with? I have an older, unused Ko RSX response servo that's 65g, that along with the 26 degree brass front lower arm mount (46g), will that be too much extra front weight? Does anyone know the wieght savings of switching out the stock turnbuckles for some Protek or Lunsford? I sealed the from stock axles for Exotek Ti, and also added a couple of grams in the rear by going with the Exotek rear aluminum hubs. |

I ran my car box stock with a low profile Xpert servo, standard shorty, my car was 1550g. I don't think ti turnbuckles would make that much of a difference. Of course, if you want the brass mount for more steering, its a good trade off for the weight. |

I'm going to leave the Hudy turnbuckles in place. I did use the Exotek Ti front axles, shock mounts and slipper eliminator. I grabbed a 75,72, and 69T spur gears, along with a set of Polypro Hybrid pinion gears 28-33 to try out. I did see Lunsford makes a pricy Ti screw kit, but I'm not doing anything else until I get it around the track and get a feel for what I have. |

What tires fit the front wheels that come with the kit? I went to LHS /track and I purchased the proline pin points and closed cell for the rear, the fronts they had where too skinny for my kit wheels and they where out of wheels that fit the tires they had for the front. Are slim fronts recommended or should I just find a tire that fits the kit wheel? What difference would I see in handling using the slimmer front wheels in lieu of the kit size? |

That is common for buggy tires on carpet. I'm not sure anyone makes a narrow rim that will work, but in my limited buggy experience I have found the method shared by Pro-Line below to work well: http://www.prolineracing.com/blog/2015/ ... ont-tires/ |

Thanks, I wonder why they just don't make the wheels for the tires. |

I use J Concepts skinny wheels - http://www.jconcepts.net/shop/mono-b5m- ... ront-wheel Also have seen on line that some cut down the XRAY wheels, just take off the inner bead. |
