Post subject: | Few M18T questions |
Hi! I have some questions about my M18T. Can I use 1/10 nitro foam tires on Xray optional aluminium adapters for foam wheels? Which motor should I choose? Xray 370, Graupner 300 6V or brushless (if brushless, how many KV/V)? Also, how many cells (2/3A) should I use? When I want to race (lets say with brushless motor), should I install aluminium stereing blocks and aluminium drive shafts (or any other tuning part (if yes, which))? Would 3-racing or Atomic aluminium drive shafts do the job? How should I set up my M18T when I want to race indoor, on carpet and quite technical track? Another thing: Do you have any proposals, which obsticals would be interesting? Thank you for all the answers!!! |

Also, how many cells (2/3A) should I use? --> I prefer lipo. ThunderPower 1320. This allows you more room to lay down electronics directly on the chassis avoiding stacking components. If you want to stay on NIMH, then use 6 (unless your track is so small...then use 5). No need to go above for racing. When I want to race (lets say with brushless motor), should I install aluminium stereing blocks and aluminium drive shafts (or any other tuning part (if yes, which))? --> Stay away from alu steering blocks. The have no give. All the breakage will be transferred to the upper arms. Keep the plastic ones and get another set instead. Get the spring steel CVDs from Xray. BY far the best Avoid: "3-racing or Atomic aluminium drive shafts" How should I set up my M18T when I want to race indoor, on carpet and quite technical track? --> I lowered the car a lot by placing rubber spacers inside the shock between the piston and the bottom of the shock. How much depends...trial and error... |
