XRAY - Model racing cars

I've been running M18, M18 Pro, M18 T and M18 MT for two years now and never had real problems. Off-course upgrading the motor on the trucks makes it more fragile cause of the speed, but never the less, it will outlast your L-truck easily

Putting brushless motors in them was a blast (currently running Mamba 25 with 5400 kv - Lipo 2S - 2200)

No matter what I try, the original pack does not want to hold more than about 300mAh of charge.

To be honest though, I am using side-by-side packs anyway, and could not really be bothered with the hassle of swapping the battery holder posts each time I swap between shotgun and stick style. I won't even bother returning it for a replacement.

But now I am using 1600mAh packs that work - boy it's quick! Due to the servo failing in the Losi, I haven't had time to do a comparison, but I would say they are approximately the same top speed, but the Xray is quicker.

On wet tarmac, the chevron tyres exhibit some "interesting" handling characteristics. Nice and smooth on the throttle, and it drifts about nicely. Anything a bit too sudden and it will go into a 360 degree spin on the spot. Interestingly though, it always ends up regaining traction in exactly the same direction I was heading, so it does not cost me a lot of time. I do think I have the diffs a little tight though.

And - the best part about it - yes, I collided with the kerb a few times, but no, there was no damage. If I had done the same with the M-LST, I would be sat ordering replacement outdrive axles rather than talking to you fine folk. This is exactly what I wanted - a low-hassle, always ready to use mini basher!

Had my first real wreck yesterday. I clipped a bump and sent it cartwheeling in every axis of rotation imaginable on tarmac.

The damage - I lost a body clip, scratched the body slightly and the lower spring retaining clip on one of the shocks came off. I found the spring clip, put on a spare body clip and carried on. If that was the Losi, I would have needed a carrier bag to transport all the bits home, very impressed!
