hi there and greets from austria! i drive my m18pro ONLY on the street/on parking decks. we have no tracks or indoor-tracks where i do live. we just paint a track with chalk and put some things there to drive around them and we start. after that you really have to clean the little one completely-but i like this part most (it has something of an meditation-exercise hrr hrr) ok what happens all to my dirty "all goes, no fear of thA street" berserker: chassis full of scratches due to little stones (no problem) the foam tires do not last very long!!! (i guess 10-15 drivings, then they are gone) please xray make some rubber-tires!!!! the car sometimes was so dirty that i were CLOSE before using brake-cleaner on it which i indeed tried - i occured no problems-but i cannot advise that to do! it´s just that i think I DON´T CARE if the car looks shabby sooner or later. i want fun. what i soon found out (and that made me really mad) was that the pivot-ball units do collect the dirt and dust and little stones and really get stuck!! there i advise you to upgrade to the metal-pivot balls, they are nickle-coated and are much more resistant to all that dirt. however i was angry, because i have the "pro"-version. i think xray should provide the m18pro with this tuning part. i bought this car because i read in an xray-advertisement that this car is easily to set to carpet AND to asphalt. so i didn´t expect such problems. after 50 drives the motor-pinion and the main-gear still looked very good, even though i had to remove little stones from it frequently. the plastic is of awesome good quality. one day i had an extrem loss in speed. the car SOMETIMES just stopped by itself. i couldn´t find the problem. all was moving easily. then i found the problem: one outer ball-bearing of the alu center-shaft was stuck due to dust. i clean the ball bearings nearly after every race with brake-cleaner, but the ones from the main drive shaft i didn´t clean so often because it´s not so dusty there. however i advise you to buy rubber sealed ball bearings from xray and never forget to clean all ball bearings after race. (how to clean them is shown exactly on an info-sheet that comes with the car) one of my friends is driving the m18 with the normal wheel mounting system and sometimes looses a wheel - he has this model for a very long time! and so i was glad to see the m18pro came out with the improved wheel mounting system. i had to have that! i´m using the 370 motor from xrays m18 power pack pro ( #389101 ) and this is enough speed for our needs. hope i could give you a bit of an overview and could answer the one or other question you had yours, puschmannn |

@Mini_Me thanks a lot for your fast answer. please have a look at this scan. "...?" sure the higher price you mentioned is a point. but then the phrase"on asphalt or carpet" shouldn´t have been written into the advertisment. and still lots of people are waiting for rubber tires, i´m sure! very curiously, yours puschmannn |

Again, your situation is outside the norm. I race on a track that is asphalt 1/2th year, we have no issues with the stock ones. Asphalt itself is not causing you the problems, its the dirt/dust on top that is. I cant comment on the tires. |

yes, the surfaces we race on are qite dusty. maybe the m18pro is just really too "pro" and needs that very clean conditions. i just think that the pivot-ball system is too sensitive. there do exist simpler systems and they work as well. is there an advantage of the pivats that i haven´t found out yet? puschmannn |
