Post subject: | Micro NuB questions |
Hi all. I own an XT8 and XB8 TQ but I'm new to micro and electric racing. I'm going to purchase an M18T, Tekin B1, and Helotes 3 cell LiPo and charger. Just wondering what motor to get because I have no clue (best mix of control and power). Also, what about gears, tires, setup etc. Am I forgetting anything else? I will be racing offroad carpet here... Thanks. Sorry for all of the nuB questions. |

Can't go wrong with a Graupner Speed 300 7.2v *since your 3 cell dont get the 6v*. Cheap and fast. As far as tires. Looks like your on carpet, so you might find the recently released M18T foam tire selection something to look into. ![]() http://www.teamxray.com/teamxray/news/n ... 2&catName= Get the , at least for the front right away with that added traction and voltage you will be putting through the truck. |

doh.... I thought the B1 was a brushless speed controller. I guess I will be getting a different one. Although, some one told me that mini brushless is hard to control. Is this true? Why the 2 cell? |

The speed 300/6v is a faster motor than the 7.2v version but will burn on a 3 cell lipo. Yes, a 3 cell lipo with a brushless is a canon on the track but uncontrolable if you are not an experienced driver. Regarding the track I know for sure a speed 300/6v with a 6 cell NiMh battery or a 2 cell lipo will give a good performance. Our old track running a 6-cell speed 300/6v setup: http://www.macdebaanbrekers.nl/hpi/films/MOV00050.mpg |
