XRAY - Model racing cars

hello guys ive now had trouble with my mamba 6800 package. it startet with a motor that sized to work after 12 times on the track. so bought a new motor hyperion 6000kv short can and that one works ok but the mamba esc acts up all the time now. if turned on sometimes it just turns on red light and wont run but still shows the signal for forward or reverse action with the yellow or red flashes but no motor action.. ive tried to change every wire and do new solders and got new plugs for wires but still the same only thing i havent done is to check if the hmm dont know the english name for it capasitator? the one thats soldered between + - wire to batt from esc. could that be my problem?
i have always raced only 2 cell lipos 1300mah 30/30c and im running 54spur and 11 pinion one a technical track. the esc is configured trough the usb kable on a pc and the settings are max in every categori except reverse. what colud my problem be? hope to get help

The site is more for help-info on Xray products versus ESC. Have you contacted Castle Creations?

I can offer one or two from my own experiences.
1: You dont need nor want maximum settings for a large can motor. In fact low is the best for start up power.
2: The hyperion could have a loose connection in its plugs or on its circuit board. Can you open it up and check the connections?
3: The hyperion may be a dud, do you have another brushless you can try?

The capacitor is to help with power drain when starting up and to keep the car from cogging (stuttering when you hit the throttle).

This is a guess.

Are you plugging in the battery and then turning on the microswitch? If your answer is yes then that is the problem. You need to leave the switch in the on position except to program or calibrate the ESC.

Leave the switch on and then plug in the battery, run the car and unplug the battery when finished to turn it off.

Always leave the switch in the off position when downloading software.
