Post subject: | Battery pack/Charger Opinions wanted |
I bought a M18MT with the following: 3racing Graphite chassis Novak GT Micro ESC Trinity Mini Monster Motor HITEC HS-81MG servo What I need is a battery pack and charger and since I haven't been in tune to electrics and mainly nitro I would like suggestions from experienced people like you on them. Seems around 1100mah batts are standard but then I saw a 3000mah. I know the basics but dont know runtimes on these and compatability with my stuff. Also chargers/dischargers...I dont want to over or under buy on those. Down the road I may go brushless and lipo too . Any suggestions on what you use and why are appreciated Johnny |

2/3A is the size of the cell, it means 17mm in diameter and about 28.5mm in length, most 18th scale cars are made to fit packs with these cells. Most power you will get with pushed/matched cells, several RC brands can deliver these cells. Discharging is important but better results are made with discharging trays like Trinity has for these cells. I made a tray by myself |

I have two Ultramat 14 chargers and take them everywhere I go. Love the dual power source. For discharging I use a . You can set a cut-off voltage, the amount of cells used, discharge current (10A or 35A) and after a discharge cycle you can see the internal resistance of the pack, estimated runtime at the discharge current and the estimated capacity of the pack. |
