Xray alu drive shafts 385203 with hex wheel mount on M18PRO

Hi

Has anybody else got these ?

I have them aswell as the original xray bearing blocks, but its seems the wheel mounted is still a little sluggish.

Am I doing it wrong, or would some small shims be nice ?

What type of play?

In/out or side to side? If in/out, would you say its more or less than a mm?

Did the composite versions have more or less play?

its axial play they have. especial front left and rear right like the uprights have the berings too close together! I didn´t wanted to start this tread b4 i had installe det alu uprights mut now it´s out in the open.
shims would be nice to have from xray to shimm away this problem. or redesigned ones with better tollerances.

Okay, the play is still a problem, also with alu uprights.

Only reason Kant does not have the play is because oif using shims.

I'm not sure the shim solutions is good, if shimmed up, the bearing resting part on the axle is allmost shimmed away, meaning the bearings will have no centering on the axles.

after some grinding with a titanium neadel file I dont have to use shims any more. it can be done but you have to take care when starting doing this mod because you can realy destroy the inner part of the axel if you don´t know what you are doing

I really don't feel like doing a mod to these axles or uprights, they cost a fortune...... :oops:

MiniMe, I believe this play will wear the uprights and axles, since the bearings have sideway play in and out.

Also, fitting shims - then you would make the ring the bearing center sits on smaller, not sure this is a good solution.
