Post subject: | m18t alu axels |
hi xray I have now been racing the m18t with alle the option parts installed, for almost 60 hours. I was rebuilding the truck yester day and saw that there was play starting developing in the outer cross of the alu axels. I think it´s a littel fast considering that It have only had 60 hours of on track time( carpet track) Í race the truck with a garupner speed 300 6v motor. are ther any new and more hardend axels on the way? I think that axels made from hudy spring steel would do the trick, caus they have a very long life cycle on my t1. i´m considering on installing a mamba 5400kv bl motor and have serious doubt that the alu ones can take the punishment for a very loong time. Can you describe or give a picture of what you mean more? I have been using mine on a carpet offroad with a AON 4900 brushless since day one with no problem. I do however run lipo, so my truck is a bit lighter than most. How are your diffs tightness? Do you have them just tightened just enough not to slip, or really locked down? If you have them so they just don't slip, it should allow a bit of slippage under landings that will help reduce drivetrain backlash. If you really have them tightened, then that will increase the strain. (You don't think 60 hours is a long time?) |

I have loosend up the ront one to get enough steering. I know it´s normal to have the rear loos but it turn in better on our carpet betetr this way. I´m eaven thinking of installing the front one way. |

yes I have redused rear toe in. so now I have more of a nutral steering, it to the fast corners. the car dosent flip over and traction roll any more. have got much better balance in the car now, but this also comes from stiffer springs and other w in the oile than stock/shock position. last night i have perfected my setup and came 0.03 second close to the track record, the record are set with a bl mamba 5400 in a fully option m18t, on std rubber tires and 11.1v lipo. my time was set with speed 300 6v with 7.2 v nimh cellpack, and std rubber tire |
