As per the under Running. 48 pitch metric is .6 module which is a somewhat noticable change in pitch. I think you mean to ask are the Xray pinion/spur .5 metric module or 48 pitch standard. Which they are the latter. You can use .5 module, but your gear mesh wont be as nice as it would otherwise be. (The RC18 series is .5 module in comparison) |

Thanks Mini_Me. I picked up a metal 48p standard pinion last night. It's much smoother sounding than the metric version. |

I have spoken with BPP, the pinions they are using aren't 48 pitch standard. The best work around at this time is to use a 1/8 inch brass tube so you can use full size pinions on the shaft. |
