Brushless V's Brushed

I am only reasonably new to RC and have just built my 18MT. My next step was to upgrade the motor to either a brushless ie: mamba 6800 or something like a 19t or lower brushed motor. I plan to just "bash" not race the truck so I would like some feedback/experiences on someone who has tried both! Also what is the lowest turn motor that the standard xray esc can handle?

Im not sure if the esc can handle that or not. But if your bashing, brushless might be worth the investment simply because there is less maintainence you have to do with the motor and longer run times. Two things I realize bashers appreciate.

Thanks for the feedback. Since posting my question I have ordered the AON 4900 with Quark ESC, alu shock tower, T-bones bumpers and alu motor mount and fan. Next is the alu drive shafts, battery and steel pinion with lots more to come as I get more experience :lol:

I'm running IB1400's from United RC and my Mamba flies... the right amount of ampage and long run times - great fun!

I finally changed the connector to the battery of the power pack in order to use it with my mamba controller and motor. What a difference !
Now the brushless power is unleashed: I cannot believe to my eyes !
The acceleration and speed is incredible.

Great fun yestreday at the park but great damages too.
I tryed a jump and the truck turned in the air landing on its roof. At every pebbles the truck wheelies and if you turn at full speed it rolls out
I think I have to buy lots of speares

just got my mamba system installed yester day at the track.
first I tryed to race with the 8000kv motor, damn soooooooo much power and soooooooo much punch, and soooooo hot cells that one of the packs didn´t want to be recharged again(pg 1300 cells 7.2v packs)
changed the motor to a graupner 330 inline and that suited the track better, but the truck are a lot more diffecoult to drive clean. was only close to brake my personal laptime, but I need alot of practice and have to try all the drifferet setup the mamba 25 esc have, b4 I will get as stabel on my laptimes with this system installed.
