Here's a custom case i have to transport my M18t in style! The case is a CD case, modified with some foam from an upholsterers so everything fits nice and snug, got everything i want for a run and some basic tools to fix it, if needed. Cost of case with foam ?15!! Hope you like, here's some pics. (p.s the front of the bodyshell is intentional, i wanted it like that!) |

Ah ha! I thought someone would ask about the 10th scale rims! I scratch made some adaptors from a modelling clay called fimo. If you've never heard of it, its like a putty that you can cure in the oven and it goes off hard like plastic. I moulded the adaptors to start with and then when cured from baking in the oven i dremelled them down to a hex shape to fit into the back of the touring car wheel. To mould them all you do is form a ball and push it over the m18 driveshaft, make sure its well pressed around as you want to mould the flat on the shaft, then i used the touring car wheel to press onto the shaft and that will mould a hex into the putty, make sure you get it square or the wheel will wobble. Then carefully pull the wheel and putty off and tap the wheel onto a baking tray to release the putty. (tip - if you have trouble releasing the putty, wet the hub of the wheel and the driveshaft lightly with water before moulding, it stops it from sticking) Do 3 more like that, and bake them for 30 mins in an oven about 120 degrees (it tells you on the packet) once cooled, you can dremel them down to the shape i have in the pictures. My truck is stock at the moment, so the hexes are handling the power very well, but i will be getting a mamba for it soon, i am not so sure they will withstand that, but we shall see. Hope this helps, and here's a couple of pics. Dan. |
