Post subject: | weird ESC (Power Pack) behavior |
Hello everybody, I am quite new to the RC hobby, I own a F1 mini-z and now an M18. I was very pleased by the M18 quality and easyness to build. I also bought the power pack at my local hobby shop (well, it's not that local, half an hour drive, that's why I post here...) I use the Kyosho Perfex transmitter and an Hitec HP-2RNB receiver. Steering works, but when I use full throttle, the motor will stop. Sometimes the car will just keep speeding on it's own, reverse throttle or just do nothing with the esc lamp blinking at high frequency. Restarting ESC does not help (or only for short time) Any suggestions? Interference or broken ESC ? Would really appreciate comments ... BTW: can't wait for the M18T !!! regards, flaxx |

mabey your transmiter is not trimed. it could be that or you just got a bad esc. |

There have been talks about the quality of the Power pak ESC's on the other Micro forums, http://yourmicro.com/forums/index.php?s= Theres a lot of people with that esc that have braking issues. |

Hi Just raced our x-ray last night after racing hpi for a year. Very happy with the handling of the car but had very simuliar problems with the esc. it just took off wide open. Thought maybe it was the radio but didn't think so. Does anyone know what x-ray says about this? |

Please check the radio setting first. Majority of all problems are related with wrong radio setting. Please follow the instruction manual to set the radio properly. If the problem will remain please email at info@teamxray.com with exact description of problem and your full address. |

I would try the Novak Spy or another micro esc like the lrp micro sport. We race ever Saturday and I had both esc's by xray. I was in stock class and had the 180 and the 300. The 300 was alittle better because the reverse was gone but if the car was hit by another or traction rolled I had to pluck the esc to get the car going again. I got tired and just bought a novak spy and the problem was gone. I like the size and the convience but, it was costing me too many races. |
