Hi,
I'm thinking of getting a M18T and i'm wondering which micro 6 cell packs fit in.
I know xray do the stick pack but do the reedy style 6 in a row ones fit?

Well there seems to be a forward mounting hole for the battery holder further forward nearer the steering on the pictures if you look closely (see Nuclear pictures here)

HOWEVER I don't know for sure. Someone from xray can pipe in?

I noticed the same thing as well but the battery strap would be too short for that to work unless the did an option one, but i can't see one on the parts list.

There is really second hole, but only in front of car.
On rear isnt. May be for longer battery holder....

I think pack should be "in two rows".
Wave on battery holder are only for design and improving strenght of holder. (Because there is only 5 waves for 5pack and spaces are too big).

On prospect is displayed six pack in two rows (but it isnt good visible.).

NuClear, the only benefits of a Pack in two rows is it's a not as long, so it it takes up less of the length of the chassis. Its cells are also directly soldered to one another lowering resistance slightly.

However at the same time, it has alot more disadvantages that make a side by side pack a better choice. In example, you cannot easily discharge and balance cells individually. The vent holes on the cell ends heat up more since the hot air cannot escape as easily (possible with leakage). Overall the two rows idea is not as good a design for a long pack life.

Dont forget also, that companies offering matched cells these days for organized racing either offer them unassembled, or via the rc18t layout as its become the standard. While you with lith-ion, and me with lith-poly may not have this problem. People who want to race in national/international events will have to deal with this.

Dan, maybe you could create your own longer version with a piece of fiberglass, and somefoam padding (use the padding on this fiberglass underside to hold the cells down).

Unless xray has a part # for a 6cell hold down available now at release?

What about a rubber band (the thick round industrial ones), thats mounted to the side the steering misses and loops to the back post?

The M18T was designed to fit standardly the 5cell pack in row and 6cell pack in two rows. See the and click in the right bottom on the POWER PACK where you will see which type of battery pack will fit the stock kit.

XRAY will release very shortly an optional holder which will enable to fit 6cell battery pack in row too. Keep watching the News section.

I thought so...

6 side by side cells fit nice to body when You move front accu holder more forward.
Is nice, that is it prepared for it.
Thank You.

P.S. Nobody will drive minitruck with 5 cells :-) It is boring.

You can indeed fit race packs into the M18T

Do not use the front battery post, I just replaced it with a cable tie locked up to hold on the battery holder and fix the cells in place.

I've got a picture but not sure if i can upload it here
