Ball diffs more of a screaching sound, ball a steel rings, A silicone grease can be used to lubricate ball diffs.Never use shock oil on bearings, One its to thin, it actually washes the grease inside the bearing. Sealed bearing wait till they get noisy. If you invest in rubber sealed bearing, they are maintainable by removing the seal, cleaning the bearing, blow dry, and useing wheel bearing grease instead of oil. Using oil does attract dirt & grime, Maintaining with grease, and wipeing off the bearing with damp alchohol rag it wont attract as easily.
