XRAY - Model racing cars

I am a die hard xray fan, and will be for a long time and coming. But I am a bit disappointed in the m18t. I love the design and the drivability of the car and the fact that it is an xray, but the durability has been a little iffy when compared to other xray cars. I have broken 3 plastic driveshafts, and seized a wheel bearing, gone through a spur gear, had to deal with a "jimmy rigged" 6 cell hold down, and other minor glitches and I haven’t had the truck more then 2 weeks. I have already vowed to stick with the truck and get the necessary parts to keep it running. I hope that I don’t have any more problems in the near future, but I just seem to be averaging one every 25 to 20 min of running. I need to know that the problems are being addressed. I am used to the minimal support in the states on xray parts availability and less than timely output of "issue related fixes," but I would like to be assured that these "Seemingly empty promises" will be sped along.

I realize how negative this post reads, but I want to reiterate the fact that I am a loyal xray fan and admire what it is you try to accomplish in your dynamic business. And I will stick by your companys side, just raising some of my personal issues, and venting.

Mario/Xray I Know in the general m18t discussions you stated over a month ago that the part # and pic of the battery strap would be available ASAP,As well as the "dust cover" for dusty conditions. When will this happen?

Newer revisions of the are now hardened (the newer revisions have a "h" stamped in the plastic). Plus the part your asking for.. the 6 cell hold down # 386155 is in the process of becoming widely available.


Bearings will fail though.. its part of the hobby. Especially at our scale and in off-road conditions. Xray offers the bearing size for the outdrives in a rubber sealed version; .

Per the driveshafts, I don't know what conditions you run under, but have you considered upgrading to the .

Reading the forum lots of people are waiting for the promised
option to "drive in dusty and dirty conditions", others are tired of waiting for springs of different stiffness, and there are many complains about stock pieces that are too fragile. Perhaps XRay technicians are only focused on T2 now.

I would agree that the T2 and other high competiton kits as well as the switch to the new facility are takeing high priority. And as a touring car racer I appreciate that, but I wanted to try something new, and even went as far as to build my own track in my back yard just for the sole purpose of running this truck. I was just ranting that I wish this could be a higher priority. On the same hand I am a realist and I know that this truck dont bring home the bacon like there other kits do and so its farther down the todum pole. Just wish this cool little truck had more support, and that a few of the bugs where fixed "faster". At least Mini-Me takes the time to keep ous from being completely in the dark.

I think his full name is "Mini-Me" Hudy. Either that or he has some serious shares in the company.

He does have the inside track on a number of developments within the company as well as a sound understanding of their products and what makes them tick.

He is the first to reveal a number of new part releases, including the much anticipated 6-cell mount but he has yet to enlighten the followers on the developments with the fix for "dirty and dusty conditions"
