Hi! Is somebody noticed a molding problem with front & rear differential crown gears? I have some metal protrusions, an excess of molded metal between differential bevel Gear's teeth and in the four holes ![]() I'm surprised because the 2018 features says : "Improved construction and production details on both front & rear differential crown gears results in quieter operation and increased reliability" I've never seen this on my previous XB4. After four five minutes run, I can see some damages on the drive gears. (I use graphite Hudy grase on it) Any idea? Thanks |

I have a similar problem with my diff gears they are very notchy and are not smooth at all . There is excess metal in between the teeth which is causing the mesh to bind . I have never had this problem with my 15 ,16 ,17. |

They need to be break-in. After some runs it should be ok. |

Yes, probably, but with the previous XB4 it was perfect even before beak in, so I am surprised... Thank you for your answer! |

1 - 5 Personally, I'd like to see a total re-design with center-line battery placement. This would solve a lot of the lipo, 5 cell, 6 cell, 4 cell, etc balance problems. If done correctly, this could allow for a lot of different battery options with the same chassis without a lot of special option parts. |

Hello, what kind of battery you like to use in XB4? |

@Cosmo88 Not sure why you'd want to run other than LiPos in an XB4. It's an elite performance car. Why put the R/C equivalent of a 50cc two-stroke in a Formula 1 chassis? ![]() |

Back on topic: I filed some of the casting flashing off the crown gear for the front and rear diff, which was a bit if a time-consuming job, but I don't think it needed it. Mine has had about 30 runs through it and the crown and pinion are both in great shape. I'm running a spec motor class and have since replaced the metal parts with the composite options - much better acceleration. |
